Why is karma important?

Karmas are the unifying factor in all religions. It is a law, not a theory. Even modern science accepts that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. What you give comes backs to you manifold. Whatever you are desiring, start giving it back to creation. If you distribute food, there will never be a shortfall of food in your house. If you distribute money, you will always have enough. If you teach, there will be no dearth of gyan for you. A Dhyan Foundation volunteer feeding monkeys. #HelpAMonkey Karma is the fuel that propels you on the journey of the spirit. If you do not have the karmas, you cannot move on the path and even if you have karmas, without the focus on guru, you will not know which direction to move in and end up spending the fuel moving in various directions. Both become essential to make the journey beyond. Remember nothing is constant in creation, you either move up or go down, you can never be stationary. Presently we are living on earth, but if an...

Karma | Help yourself by helping one another

“A thought to aid Creation”, that’s how Yogi Ashwini of Dhyan Ashram, defines the not-for-profit organisation that brings together service-minded individuals, groups and organisations willing to help others across domains. Members of team DF, who come together with no membership or registration, contribute in cash, kind or service to the cause as per individual capacity without any remuneration and any form hierarchy. “Everyone’s a volunteer as we never believe in building assets. All that comes for charity, 100 per cent, is directed towards the cause,” Team DF elaborates. #WarmthForAll | Blanket distribution drive Insisting on karma or immediate action, this NGO believes that helping one another is equivalent to helping oneself. “Be it giving a blanket to a man sitting outside the house in cold or feeding a dog dying of hunger 2,000 miles away, the entire energy of Dhyan Foundation is focussed on action – no tall claims, no selling or advertising, no name or fame, ju...

Significance of karma

Creation is cyclical in nature. There is an upward curve followed by a downward curve. We are presently on the downward curve of creation, the peak of Kalyug. If you look around, everything is on a decline or fast deteriorating. Let us take the health of humans as an example, if you compare your body and level of activity to that of your grandparents when they were your age, you would find, they had fitter and stronger bodies and were able to too much more work than yourself. Then if you go back a few hundred years and compare their bodies to those of their forefathers, a similar trend would be observed. In fact, there is a modern research which confirms that the brain size of humans is shrinking with time. Dog shelters by Dhyan Foundation Not just health, the quality of food, air, water and environment are all on a downturn. Forests are fast disappearing, foods are laden with toxins, water is contaminated, air is unbreathable, wildlife is thinning out. In general, ne...

How Dhyan Foundation volunteers are helping ailing cattle

Despite controversies around gau rakhsaks and vigilantism, there are groups of cow lovers working silently and doggedly towards the well-being of the bovine species in the state. Cow care centres located at Avedem in Paroda, Zambaulim and Shirvoi in Quepem, and Valpoi in Sattari, are a blessing for injured bovines and abandoned cattle. While the first three are run by Dhyan Foundation, a New Delhi-based spiritual and charitable organisation, the one in North Goa is run by Jai Sree Ram Gau Sanvardhan Kendra, a registered animal welfare trust. Representative image The fact that thousands of stray cattle have been treated and nursed back to life at these cow shelters points to the fact that an increasing number of people are abandoning their cows and buffaloes once they turn 'unproductive', thereby adding to the stray cattle menace. "The number of cattle in our gaushalas is increasing rapidly. Unfortunately, this is a sign of the degeneration of our soc...

Understand and find yourself: Yogi Ashwini

People these days are self-absorbed and have lost track of their well-being and the world around them. Yogi Ashwini is spreading the message of finding the right consciousness within oneself through Dhyan Foundation. “Nothing is constant. Today if you have something, you will not have it tomorrow. Nobody can break this circle, but you can survive it by being detached,” he explains. Adept in the ancient sciences of yoga, spiritual healing, and vedic martial arts, he feels the world is geographically divided into four parts — the West, comprising the US and Europe; the East, artistic and cultural capital; Africa, the centre of old ancient pre-civilisation world; and  India, the spiritual centre of the world. Within India, there are several powerful regions, with abundant positive and negative spirits. “The area around Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and certain belts of Rajasthan, are very powerful. There exist both negative and positive spirits. Depending on the way you interact w...

Ordeal of 49 camels ends, Patna HC orders release on plea of Dhyan Foundation

Patna, May 1, 2017: (By Raju William) On the plea of Dhyan Foundation (DF) - a spiritual, charitable organisation working for animals' welfare, High Court of Patna has ordered to release 49 camels immediately to it for their rehabilitation. DF had waged a sustained 5-month long legal battle led by Yogi Ashwini for the release of the seized camels and handover their custody to it for their safety and rehabilitation. Originally, 61 camels were rescued from the hands of animal smugglers who, in cahoots with official/administrative machinery, were illegally transporting them for sale and subsequent slaughter from Rajasthan to Bangladesh. The HC also directed that DF would shift the released camels back to safety in Rajasthan and the State-respondents would fully cooperate in shifting of the camels.   In a statement, DF spokesperson said that on November 28, as many as 61 camels were seized by Circle Officer from Khagra Mela from the animal smugglers and upon ...

FODDER STATIONS PROVIDE RELIEF TO CATTLE IN KOLLEGAL

In an attempt to mitigate the acute drought-triggered fodder crisis in Kollegal taluk of Chamrajnagar district, the district administration along with volunteers from non-governmental groups has intensified relief activities by setting up gaushalas and fodder stations in affected settlements. One such gaushala set up by the district administration with the assistance of the department of animal husbandry and veterinary sciences is providing fodder and water to as many as 1,500 cattle in Dantehalli village. This is in addition to fodder stations set up in the nearby Kuratti Hosur panchayat. As of now, six temporary gaushalas and at least 10 fodder stations have reportedly been set up as a temporary relief measure for affected farmers. “We have set up a gaushala in Dantehalli to provide free fodder and water for the cattle of the village. We are also closely monitoring the situation on a daily basis. The additional chief secretary also took stock of the situation on Monday,” ...

FARM ANIMALS DIE OF HUNGER IN BONE-DRY KOLLEGAL, KARNATAKA

With four years of drought on the trot, fodder is hard to come by. Cattle are no longer allowed to forage inside forests after incidents of tree-cutting. Things will only get worse now even though govt says it is setting up gaushalas and providing fodder. Chamarajanagar district’s Kollegal taluk is technically just 142 km from Bengaluru city but the change of scene is so dramatic that you could be in another world. On the parched earth is heartbreaking evidence of a summer that’s turning out to be fatal. Open fields near Kuratti Hosur panchayat, especially the drought-hit Dantehalli, are littered with rotting carcasses of cows that perished due to lack of fodder. Mirror’s team spotted the remains of a goat, five head of cattle and some skeletal remains. A few other animals roamed around looking for food, barely alive in their skeletal and dehydrated state. Rain has been scanty here and while drinking water is available as of now, fodder for livestock has become a big pr...

3 women fight against illegal camel trade at Bangladesh border

Three women fight against the illegitimate trading of camel after 61 camels were brought from Rajasthan to Kishanpganj, Bihar. As many as 61 of the Indian desert camels, which were declared as endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resourse (IUCN), were traded illegally from Rajasthan to Kishanganj in Bihar. As trafficking of camels is prohibited in the state of Rajasthan, a case has been registered at the Kishanganj police station. Ms Nitasha Jaini, an artist by profession, Ms Anjali Anand, Operations Manager with an education agency and Ms Neeru Gupta, an education professional, have taken up the legal battle for protecting and securing the lives of the endangered species. And these women are backed by Dhyan Foundation, an animal welfare NGO. On December 5, 2016, the women along with the NGO fought the case in court and got release orders for 61 camels to rehabilitate them in a shelter in Rajasthan. However, a stay was ...

THE CYCLE OF CREATION

Creation is an unending cycle. It has no beginning or end. It’s a continuous process which is divided into mahayugs, which are further subdivided into yugs — Sat, Treta, Dwapar and Kali. Each yug has its traits by which it is defined and a specific level of existence, which it holds in its folds. The beings that inhabit each yug vibrate at a specific pranic frequency. This frequency determines their qualities, nature and forms. Satyug is the time when dharma is at its peak. As a result, environment is healthy, natural resources abound, there is little corruption and treachery. The frequencies are extremely subtle. The time is conducive to subtlest frequencies manifesting in physical body. Health and lifespan of men is at its peak. The exit route for Satyug is direct gyan in the sanidhya of guru . Treta yug is marked by dharma losing its one leg. The environment deteriorates and crimes increase. The frequencies are less subtle as are men and their bodies. In this yug, it is not...
