There is pyramidal structure to Creation, your position in the pyramid is determined by your desire. Every being is born with a specific desire and matching to that desire finds a Guru. As one holds the hand of the Guru, he/she moves to that level of the pyramid and the desire manifests. The problem begins after, as then, usually the person gets caught in the desire and is unable to move further. So he/she slips, and begins the downwards journey. The problem of kalyug is that our desires are embedded into the physical, physical is what the majority understands, so even when one sets on a search for Guru, he/she measures him on physical yardsticks – how big is his ashram, how many factories does he own, etc. Beyond that, one is unable to comprehend, missing out on the essence of what the Guru is. In present times one would give more respect to a Math’s teacher than a Guru, for the thought pattern is – ‘At least he will teach me something which...

                                    There is a lady who has been doing dhyana for quite some time. Everyday without fail she would write to me seeking my blessings, so that she can move ahead in dhyana. Recently, I got a mail from her asking if I could help her find a camera that got lost recently. Such emails, especially from those who have been long practicing, set me thinking. Why do people do dhyana ? Most of the people who come to me either want to pass an exam, some of them desire a better job or relationship and the rest have a heart trouble or a factory that is about to shut. I know this because I keep getting your emails and as I read them, I wonder if I am really a Yoga Guru or a consultant to whom people come for solutions to their various problems.   सृष्टि में कुछ भी स्थिर या स्थायी नहीं है, प्रतिपल या तो वह ऊपर की ओर जा रहा है या फिर नीचे की ओर। यदि सृष्टि के नियमों का पालन होता है तो विकास और उन्नति होती है और यदि उन्हीं नियमों की अवहेलना होती है तो पतन और विनाश। इस कलियुग में मनुष्य, आत्मिक पतन की ओर अग्रसर है। प्राकृत नियमों की अवहेलना हो रही है। सभी धर्म यह कहते हैं, कि, ‘देने में ही प्राप्ति है’ फिर भी,अभी तक कोई भी, ऐसा करने को तैयार नहीं। दुनिया के सभी धर्मों के महापुरुषों की जीवनी से पता चलता है कि उन्होंने स्वयं के लिए कभी कुछ भी एकत्रित नहीं किया था, बल्कि सम्पूर्ण सृष्टि के कल्याण और उत्थान के लिए निरंतर कार्य किए । आज, लोगों को उसी धर्म में विश्वास नहीं जिसे वह मानते हैं, वह तो केवल बढ़ रहे हैं . .. पतन और विनाश की ओर। प्रत्येक धर्म, नरक या जहन्नुम की बात करता है। नरक के द्वार उनके लिए खुलते हैं जो स्वार्थ के लिए जीते हैं, जो कोई भी अपराध या जुर्म होते हुए देखकर भी चुप खड़े रहते हैं। जब भी कोई किसी पशु या मानव को कष्ट में देखकर अपना मुँह फेर लेता है, उसे बचाने का कोई प्रयास नहीं करता, तो समझो...

भगवान हनुमान, ज्ञान के दाता हैं और जहाँ ज्ञान है वहाँ अविद्या नहीं रहती। सभी समस्याएँ अज्ञानता से ही उत्पन्न होती हैं। अविद्या के कारण ही, एक मनुष्य, रिश्ते – नाते, रुपया – पैसा, स्वास्थ्य आदि से स्वयं को बाँधे रखता है। यह सब तो थोड़े समय के लिए ही हैं, और जब इनके छूटने की बारी आती है तो बहुत कष्ट होता है। क्या इस दुनियाँ में कुछ भी ऐसा है जिसे आप सदा के लिए पकड़ कर रख सकें, यहाँ तक कि आपका शरीर भी अस्थायी है। यह सब जानते हुए भी हम अस्थायी का पीछा करते रहते हैं और परेशान होते हैं। ज्ञान और जानकारी, दो विभिन्न स्तर हैं, दोनों में फर्क है। ज्ञान आपका अपना अनुभव है जिसे गुरु प्रदान करते हैं और जानकारी या सूचना मस्तिष्क के लिए है। ज्ञान आपके अहंकार को खत्म करता है जबकि अधिक से अधिक जानकारी की प्राप्ति अहंकार को बढाती है। यही अहंकार मनुष्य को वास्तविकता से दूर करता है तथा योग के मार्ग में एक बहुत बड़ी बाधा बनता है। यदि आप अपने आस-पास विद्वान जनों पर दृष्टि डालेंगे तो उन्हें अहँकार से भरा हुआ पाएँगे, वहीं दूसरी ओर भगवान शिव के’ रूद्र ‘अवतार श्री हनुमान ज्ञान के भंडार हैं जिनका पराक्रम, ...

Shiv is the doer and may be likened to a vehicle. If you remove ‘i’ from Shiv, it becomes ‘shav’ (corpse). The ‘i’ represents Shakti, which is the fuel that energises this vehicle to perform action. Shakti is the force of the physical world. Shivratri is the night of merger of Shiv and Shakti making a complete whole. Shiv and Shakti pertain to manifest creation and arise from the unmanifest. The journey back to the unmanifest can be carved only through their complete merger which is the ultimate purpose of yoga and Sanatan Kriya . A practical example of merger of Shiv and Shakti is the institution of marriage where the merger of male and female leads to manifestation of a new life. If there is a mismatch in this merger of male and female, or Shiv and Shakti, the marriage remains incomplete. Whenever there was a disbalance in Creation, it was ensured that the avatars worked on rectifying it. The avatar was bespoke of the yuga as the yugas needed to change with time. He took birth as a Brahmin (Parshurama) to annihilate the corrupt Kshatriyas, as a prince(Rama) to slay the demon king of Lanka and as a cowherd(Krishna) who executed the cunning Kansa and steered the Pandavas to victory. Lord Vishnu is said to have ten avatars (dashavatars) in the present cycle of four yugas. The sun rises, and sets, and rises again the next morning. Water evaporates, falls back as water, and evaporates once again. The tree blooms, sheds leaves, and bears fresh leaves once again. It is an unending cycle, with no beginning or end, just like the source, the shivling which is an oval, the journey of the spirit being a continuous spiral motion up and down the oval with no beginning or end, the destination of journey being merger with the core. All aspects of creation reside in this form– the good and the bad and the evil. Sunrise too is shiv, sunset too is shiv. In the realm of shiv, there is no distinction. It is up to an individual what part he/she chooses to access. Let us look at the swaroop of shiv parivar. Shiv holds Ganga in his locks which signifies purity, the neck is adorned with Mund-maala (garland of skulls) which is a form of Mahakaal that signifies impurity and at the bottom is urik or vaak charm, again signifying impurity (mrit shareer or dead body)....

Yog is your relationship with your Guru . A shishya according to his capacity, establishes a relationship with the Guru, then it is the task of the Guru to make him/her rise above that relationship to a state where there are all relationships and yet no relationship. Sati, born to Daksha Prajapati, was the incarnation of Adi Shakti herself, and performed great austerities to win the Adi Guru Shiv himself, as her husband. Her penance was rewarded, her decision however was not well-received by her father, King Daksha. The king cut-off all communication with his daughter after marriage since he did not approve of Lord Shiv as his son-in-law. Once, a grand yagya was being conducted at King Daksha’s palace where all the gods and goddesses save Lord Shiv and Sati were invited. Sati requested Lord Shiv to accompany her for the yagya . Lord Shiv refused since they had not been invited and he advised her also not to go. Sati however insisted that a daughter does not need invitation...

Yog is a beautiful journey, it is a journey into the physically manifested Creation, enjoying its aspects and then going beyond them into higher forms of pleasures and higher dimensions of experience. I get people from all walks of life and from all strata of society who come to me with a zillion questions about the physical life and what lies beyond it. The interesting thing being in all those zillion questions is that they can be divided into five heads as I have previously written in my last article, the sixth head being the true seeker, these are the people who have lived with me in previous lifetimes and have been a part of me and my various lives, whether on the battlefields of Afghanistan or the dunes of Rajasthan or the ashrams of Narmada and the Himalayas. They have started their journeys with me many lifetimes back and have now come again to continue them…in this life.   Have you wondered why we like being with some people and why we want to stay away from some?   The reason is simple, anyone who is calm and at peace, or shant creates a serenity around and people feel good in such a person’s company and those who are disturbed, stressed , anxious or ashant create the same disturbance around them thereby giving signals to people to stay away.The difference is the difference in positive and negative vibrations.   The frequency of the waves that a person radiates directly affect his immediate environment, and the Creation at large and as an equal and opposite reaction the state of the person also gets affected by his/her immediate environment. Thus, a person who is troubled, stressed, anxious would spread disturbances into his surroundings, and as its effect he would in turn get more and more disturbed; a vicious circle… and all this would have a chaotic and cumulative effect on the whole environment.   The above cl...
