Defining the process of evolution in a human being

The entire Creation runs on prana shakti, the eternal life-force, an all-pervading phenomenon. All objects, animate and inanimate, are made of prana – including the five elements—prithvi (earth), jal (water), akash (ether), vayu (air), and agni (fire). These elements or the Paanch Mahaprana exist in various permutations and combinations to form different things in Creation including our body. It is these elements that make one woman pretty while another not so; cause one man to be healthy and another to be diseased. Paanch Mahaprana, is the immediate force which governs the physical body and with this the mudras (movements of the hands & fingers). The relation of all five elements with their respective fingers means we can, at will, increase or decrease specific elements in the body, which also forms the basis of our chakras which as we know control the functioning of the physical body. But, before we move on to the kriya, it is essential to understand how these eleme...

Anti-Ageing: Deepan Kriya

A common thought that prevails over most people in the 30s and 40s is how not to put on weight. With increasing age, the metabolic processes of the body become sluggish and there is a decrease in physical activity. In such a situation a person engaged day-in- and-day- out in the pursuit of five senses and collection for himself, starts to gain weight and falls prey to the myriad diseases linked with an obese body. Ill-informed and desperate, he cuts down on certain components of the diet arbitrarily or consults a dietician. A dietician, too, only understands the physical aspect of body and in most cases, prescribes reducing the fat component of diet. The physical body or annamaya kosha is defined in ayurveda as ‘Dosha dhatu mala mool hi shariram’, i.e., the body is composed of doshas, dhatus and malas. These three factors direct and manipulate the physical manifestation of the body, for the body is the site of manifestation of consciou...

GYAN, THAT LIBERATES

Creation has been on for millions of years and souls have been taking birth in the body regularly. If we scientifically look at the basis of soul, then science says energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it only changes form and body is not just elements, it is also consciousness. So obviously if we believe in modern science, then we must also believe in consciousness…At dhyan ashram, practitioners have reported seeing their past lives and many such past life accounts have been recorded in detail. Soul exists in different homes and different bodies. Present souls have taken birth in n number of bodies. If you look outside the window of a plane, no matter where you are in the world, you will find hundreds of buildings and skyscrapers as the plane takes off. As it goes higher, the buildings and skyscrapers becomes smaller and smaller, and slowly they turn into millions of lights which are actually homes of people. So it is interesting that when you access deeper stages of...

Consciousness-Creates

What existed when there was nothing? How did plants, animals, land, water, space and trillions of galaxies come into being? Consciousness manifested into the five elements forms all creation. It is everything that we see around us and also that which is yet to be manifested—the sum total of it all. We, too, are a part of the same consciousness and can manifest anything in creation by accessing it. To give you an example of the play of consciousness, 30-35 years ago, a popular actor was fighting death lying in a hospital. The entire nation came together and willed his recovery, and he did. This happened as a result of its collective will. You might have noticed that many times you fear something and keep thinking that ‘this should not happen’ and your fear materialises. This is the act of consciousness. Instead if you think that ‘this is how it should happen’, then it will. The science of yoga is based on tapping the phenomenal power of consciousness. It is through  thi...

The Science of Colours

The physical body consists of five elements in various permutations and combinations. Sanatan Kriya says they are controlled by the dimension of colour. Everything in creation has a colour to it. Everything looks the way it does because it is in a state of balance, as it is vibrating at a specific frequency. Sanatan Kriya further details that if there is an imbalance in any of these colours or energy, the manifestation happens in colours, it further effects the object, which maybe the physical body that we are talking about in this case. That distortion is called a disease, also called imbalance in Ayurveda. To correct that imbalance, there are various powerful techniques given in Sanatan Kriya under the topic of self-healing. For example, if you have an upset stomach, the primary constituting colours of stomach are green and light saffron. By introducing the right shade of these colours into the stomach in the prescribed quantities, the stomach will automatically resume its normal ...

Stillness Is Strength

Creation emerged from stillness. The ultimate purpose of yog is to gather that stillness inside because stillness is the ultimate strength; in fact, it holds the complete creation in it. Patanjali, the source and fountain of yog calls yog to be chitta vritti nirodh, that is, to still the modifications of mind. There are no asanas in Patanjali’s yogsutras , but only one sloka: ‘sukham sthiram asanam’ which translates as a posture in which one is comfortable and still. Similarly, there are no breathing exercises, only kumbhak, that is the cessation of breath and that too natural, not forced — a state experienced in states of dhyan. It is interesting to see how people dance around trees and breathe like animals in the hope of achieving yog. Chitta comprises of the five senses related to five elements, which is the body. In terms of energy body, these five senses correspond to five basic chakras in the body — mooladhar(sense of smell), swadishthan (sense of taste), manipoorak (...

Elements

Elements & the being Elements or  tatwas  are a basis for the physical manifested creation; these elements are present in every aspect of creation in various permutations and combinations and in various ratios and proportions. A slight change in the ratio of one element and a man could look like a monkey. It is these elements that make one woman look pretty and another ugly the difference is just a fractional change of ratio in one of the elements. The science of yoga helps a being to come to an optimal balance at the level of these elements; it is this slight correction, which makes a  yogi  the centre of attraction for everybody. Every  chakra  in the etheric body has five layers associated with it. At the level of the physical it controls certain organs or systems in the body. At the  pranic  level, it has certain characteristics or properties attached to it, which define its characteristics. Every  chakra  is assoc...
