Karma | Help yourself by helping one another

“A thought to aid Creation”, that’s how Yogi Ashwini of Dhyan Ashram, defines the not-for-profit organisation that brings together service-minded individuals, groups and organisations willing to help others across domains. Members of team DF, who come together with no membership or registration, contribute in cash, kind or service to the cause as per individual capacity without any remuneration and any form hierarchy. “Everyone’s a volunteer as we never believe in building assets. All that comes for charity, 100 per cent, is directed towards the cause,” Team DF elaborates. #WarmthForAll | Blanket distribution drive Insisting on karma or immediate action, this NGO believes that helping one another is equivalent to helping oneself. “Be it giving a blanket to a man sitting outside the house in cold or feeding a dog dying of hunger 2,000 miles away, the entire energy of Dhyan Foundation is focussed on action – no tall claims, no selling or advertising, no name or fame, ju...

Interview | How can yoga help in solving issues like corruption and naxalism?

You talk of mind pollution. What is it and how can it be removed? To understand pollution, you must first understand nature. In nature, whatever flows remains healthy and whatever stagnate leads to disease. Stagnation would lead to pollution, which is the first stage of a disease. So, stagnation of wealth, thoughts or that of the body would definitely result in disease. The disease could manifest in any part of the atmosphere as air, soil and water pollution. In the body, it may manifest in the form of diseases like cancer, which are a manifestation of emotional pollution. The simple solution for this in Sanatan Kriya is that you let yourself flow: help others, feed others, defend the weak, become the strength of the disturbed. In so doing, your resources, whether mental or physical, shall flow and keep you and your atmosphere healthy. Don’t allow any stagnation in your bodies or banks; and hence, no pollution will be there, neither mental nor manifested (physical). Yogi Ash...

10000 Plus Rescued Animals Need Support

Dear Animal Lovers, There was a time when India was synonymous to benevolence, where animals, birds, forests and trees were worshipped. Today in the same country India, voiceless creatures are being tortured terribly and destruction of natural resources is rampant. Somewhere dogs are being burnt and their burnt bodies are hung up on rods to be displayed abusively throughout the city and elsewhere tails of cow and bulls are broken deliberately, tobacco or chilli pepper is rubbed into their eyes and they are loaded mercilessly in trucks for trafficking.Peacocks are being killed brutally for their meat, bullets are being fired on monkeys and camels are butchered openly. Between all this inhumane treatment of animals, there is a ray of hope in the form of animal activists and NGOs who are working day and night putting their lives in risk for these speechless beings, out of compassion and their sense of responsibility to save creation. Dhyan Foundation is one of such rare organ...

Guru Poornima special: What should be the purpose of yoga?

Yoga is not about achieving more in the physical, it is the journey of leaving the physical and achieving sidhhis to go beyond. There is pyramidal structure to Creation, your position in the pyramid is determined by your desire. Every being is born with a specific desire and matching to that desire finds a Guru. As one holds the hand of the Guru, he/she moves to that level of the pyramid and the desire manifests. The problem begins after, as then, usually the person gets caught in the desire and is unable to move further. So he/she slips and begins the downwards journey. The problem of kalyug is that our desires are embedded into the physical, physical is what the majority understands, so even when one set on a search for Guru, he/she measures him on physical yardsticks – how big is his ashram, how many factories does he own, etc. Beyond that, one is unable to comprehend, missing out on the essence of what the Guru is. In present times one would give more respect to a M...

Mystic Mantra: The journey from darkness to light

Gita says a life led only for self-gratification is a life of sin. A human body is the only dimension where one can move from darkness to light. Tamso maa jyotir gamaya. When you look at the night sky, what is it that catches your attention first? The moon. Why? Because it is the brightest. Sun, moon, stars are all gods and goddesses and the universe is full of them. Some of them are in the light, them you can see. Others are in darkness. When you go in deep states of dhyan you are able to interact with them, and you actually see the pits of darkness they are in and the pain they experience because we got this chance, a human body, to move from darkness to light. They also got a chance but lived a selfish life, hence are in darkness. Sanatan Kriya gives you the ability to see their dimensions. To get a first-hand experience of this darkness, sit in a closed dark cupboard. Ask someone to lock it from the outside and lock the room and do not open it for 3-4 hours. In that...

Dhyana blocks mentations

There is a lady who has been doing dhyana for quite some time. Everyday without fail she would write to me seeking my blessings, so that she can move ahead in dhyana. Recently, I got a mail from her asking if I could help her find a camera that got lost recently. Such emails, especially from those who have been long practicing, set me thinking. Why do people do dhyana ? Most of the people who come to me either want to pass an exam, some of them desire a better job or relationship and the rest have a heart trouble or a factory that is about to shut. I know this because I keep getting your emails and as I read them, I wonder if I am really a Yoga Guru or a consultant to whom people come for solutions to their various problems. It is foolish to think that dhyana would make you immortal or help you recover a business loss or make your ailing heart hale and ...

There’s more to animal rights: NGOs

NEW DELHI: With cases of  vigilantism over cow  going up, a number of animal rights NGOs have become vocal over the issue of  gau rakshaks  taking the law into their own hands. While these groups have been trying to highlight cases of illegal cow trafficking through the police, they say the recent attack by a vigilante group makes things tougher for them. Dhyan Foundation ,  one such  NGO , has been working against illegal smuggling of cows and camels across Delhi-NCR region which has led to high volatility on the ground recently. The group, along with PFA, has been holding 'peaceful car rallies' across the capital for the past few months to highlight the issue of illegal trafficking of animals. "Such attacks by vigilante groups makes it more difficult for NGOs that are trying to sort things out peacefully. We got to know about a couple of cases recently but we approached the police so that the violators could be caught through the course of law. ...

Dhyan Foundation volunteers save a cow out of canal in Ludhiana

Two young volunteers of NGO Dhyan Foundation on Saturday saved life of a cow by pulling her out of the bed of the Sidhwan canal here. An abandoned cow fell into the canal near Sigma College of Nursing here. For hours, she was not able to get out on her own as it was difficult to climb the several feet high concrete slope of the canal’s bank. The case was brought to the notice of the Dhyan Foundation whose volunteers Dushyant and Mithun reached the spot. Both rushed to the spot and tried to seek help to pull her out. The help of the police was also sought which did not come about.  Both volunteers finally arranged a rope and pulled the cow with it after a long struggle. Both also sustained minor injuries in the process. “We are taught by Yogi Ashwini Ji to selflessly help the weak and those in distress, be it a human being, animals, bird or even plants which fall within out sight,: said Dushyant, a young entrepreneur and DF volunteer . The articl...

THE HEALING PRANA - ATTENDING TO CUTS & BRUISES

We often hear the phrase “nazar lag gayi”. Mind you that is not gibberish or mumbo-jumbo. It is true. The entire Creation, everything that exists around us, plants, animals, humans, birds, insects - everything is energy. This energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but it changes form. The form that differentiates one energy from the other is the frequency that it vibrates at. Insects, animals being the grossest frequency while the dimension of the devas being the subtlest. What makes us gross or subtle, is the desires that drive us, the karmas we come with and the karmas we create in this lifetime. And Karma could be a single thought, action, spoken word.  Master Choa Kok Sui rightly said ‘ energy follows thought ’. A thought is as powerful as a physical action. Just like a strong thought of a person, can hit you, unsaid, unseen, unheard! In Yoga, which is a science of life, Spiritual Healing, with the aid of one’s consciousness can alter one’s karmas and heal...
