How to dissolve body contamination?

This is our body and all around us is the environment. This is our body and all around us is the environment. This body is also a part of the environment because everything is made of the five elements—earth, water, fire, air and ether. Actually, the body is made up of 24 tatvas.  The element that is most relevant to this discussion is ‘I’—asmita, aham, ahankar or ego. That is the most important tatva. It is also the first one to get contaminated. In order to contaminate the air in you, a few breaths of polluted air have to be inhaled. But not even a breath is required to contaminate the ego. It happens in an instant.  If you tell a beautiful girl that she is ugly, immediately she believes that she is ugly. After that even if 100 people tell her that she is pretty, she will continue to think she is ugly. The first thing to get contaminated is the ego and that is also the biggest test of a sadhak. The person whose ego is not affected by anything, no matter what ...

What creates dilution in sadhna?

The Devs and Danavs are real and can be accessed through this body by doing sadhna under sanidhya of a Guru. A clear indication of whether you are moving deeper into the science or into dilutions is your experience.   Every moment in the life of a sadhak is a havan, an ahuti (sacrifice) made to the Devs — be it the act of eating food, sexual gratification, travel and leisure or even sadhna… even a sadhna has to be sacrificed after a stage. All these aspects are aspects of the physical — that which is temporary and unreal — it does not exist. The moment a sadhak associates himself with a physical aspect and tries to hold on to it, it is called a dilution in yog. On the other hand, if the sadhak makes an offering to the Devs with every physical aspect, it paves the way to evolution. The Devs and Danavs are real and can be accessed through this body by doing sadhna under sanidhya of a Guru. The subtler the energy, the more purity is called for in the sadhna to attain i...

How to climb the pyramid of evolution?

In the pyramid of evolution, there is plenty of space at the base but only a needlepoint space at the top. Only a few are entitled to reach the top. This entitlement is not decided by one’s looks or wealth or influence in the society, it is the result of the grace of guru which is earned by one’s karmas and one-pointed focus. This journey to the top of the pyramid is extremely easy and yet most difficult. Easy, because the guru shows you the door and also the path to the door, all you need to do is walk. Difficult because there is only space for a few, so there are energies at play that try to make the sadhaka take a turn. And these energies work at various levels and intensities. At a basic level, they manifest a desire for the sadhaka. A fraction of sadhakas are able to understand the temporariness of the pleasure and are able to keep themselves focused on the finality or the permanent, in the midst of all the pleasures. At the next level, sadhaka is endowed with ...

Significance of karma

Creation is cyclical in nature. There is an upward curve followed by a downward curve. We are presently on the downward curve of creation, the peak of Kalyug. If you look around, everything is on a decline or fast deteriorating. Let us take the health of humans as an example, if you compare your body and level of activity to that of your grandparents when they were your age, you would find, they had fitter and stronger bodies and were able to too much more work than yourself. Then if you go back a few hundred years and compare their bodies to those of their forefathers, a similar trend would be observed. In fact, there is a modern research which confirms that the brain size of humans is shrinking with time. Dog shelters by Dhyan Foundation Not just health, the quality of food, air, water and environment are all on a downturn. Forests are fast disappearing, foods are laden with toxins, water is contaminated, air is unbreathable, wildlife is thinning out. In general, ne...

Understand and find yourself: Yogi Ashwini

People these days are self-absorbed and have lost track of their well-being and the world around them. Yogi Ashwini is spreading the message of finding the right consciousness within oneself through Dhyan Foundation. “Nothing is constant. Today if you have something, you will not have it tomorrow. Nobody can break this circle, but you can survive it by being detached,” he explains. Adept in the ancient sciences of yoga, spiritual healing, and vedic martial arts, he feels the world is geographically divided into four parts — the West, comprising the US and Europe; the East, artistic and cultural capital; Africa, the centre of old ancient pre-civilisation world; and  India, the spiritual centre of the world. Within India, there are several powerful regions, with abundant positive and negative spirits. “The area around Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and certain belts of Rajasthan, are very powerful. There exist both negative and positive spirits. Depending on the way you interact w...

Exploring the Spiritual Realms

Yogiji's article in New Indian Express, Kochi http://www.newindianexpress.com/cities/kochi/Exploring-the-Spiritual-Realms/2014/11/20/article2531735.ece A few years ago, Seema Kalra, a Delhi-based trekker, along with her husband Rajesh went for a trip to Kailash Manasarovar. She took several pictures of Kailash and the mountains.  When she returned, she decided to show them to her guru Yogi Ashwini and her friends, all of whom practised meditation at the Sree Aurobindo Ashram in Delhi.  So the group sat in the room and Seema switched on the projector. The first and second pictures were fine, and then, suddenly, in the third frame, there was this glowing face. “He had sharp features, a milk-white complexion and shoulder-length black hair,” says Yogi Ashwini. “He was looking straight into my eyes and I shivered.” Immediately, Yogi Ashwini prostrated himself on the ground. “Later, when I drove back home I was crying throughout,” he says. “The energy which radiated f...

Celestial Powers

All creation is governed by certain shaktis. As you progress in yog sadhana, you are able to experience their forms. Each day of the year is governed by a specific shakti. All creation is governed by certain shaktis . As you progress in yog sadhana, you are able to experience their forms. Each day of the year is governed by a specific shakti. This is why yog stresses the importance of niyam and daily practice. If one misses sadhana for even for a single day, the shakti of that day is left behind and the sadhana of an entire year goes waste because in brahmand, if a single thing goes missing then its effect is felt on everything—our body, the earth and other planets and stars. Every shakti has a day, but rituals are not needed to access them. Yog have no ritual, only sadhana of shakti. It is important to understand the shakti of each day and its swaroop. Each form of shakti has a name, but at the present moment, we will only be discussing their forms. The names are t...

Significance of Ganesh Chaturthi

Every aspect of creation resides within the human body. The body being much more than what we see in the mirror, these aspects can be accessed through certain practices from ashtanga yoga and sanatan kriya. If you ask a yogic practitioner about the body, he will describe certain channels and energy centres and also specific forms and shapes associated with different parts of the body. If you happen to attend a vedic yagya, you might see these forms and shapes in the agni. Or if you are in the presence of an evolved guru as he chants certain mantras, you could get the experience. Take for example, the form of Ganapati. We all identify Ganesha as a deity with an elephant head and a pot belly. Ganesha is the energy closest to physical creation. In the human body, it corresponds roughly to the base of the spine, which is the location of mooladhar chakra, responsible for our physical needs. Mooladhar is the highest chakra in animals, the exit point from the yoni of an animal a...

Lord's Names in Vain

Mount Kailash is the source of shakti for the entire creation. At the time of the Vedic sciences, it corresponded to the north-east direction. With the change of yugas and the shift in the tilt of earth’s axis, it has assumed the north direction presently. In Vedic times, directions were given by looking at and measuring the congruence of energies. Directions played a pivotal role in the process of creation. You must have observed that all auspicious tasks are performed towards the north-east direction, which is called ‘ishan’. Interestingly, Ishan is another name for Lord Shiva. In Vedic times he had eight names—Sharva, Bhava, Rudra, Ugra, Bheem, Pashupati, Ishan and Mahadev, each representing various aspects and forces that play a pivotal role in the Universe. Rudra is the destructive form of Shiva. The specific mantra ‘Rudra-Rudra-Maharudra,’ which when practiced in the presence of a guru, stops the effect of future adversities. As one completes the sadhna of Rudra jaa...

Spirituality and Humanity: Missing Components of Business

How does one express spirituality? The most basic way is through one's deeds. These deeds involve being a better human being who is sensitive towards other human beings, that is, being humane. This is the guiding theme of this year's World Confluence on Humanity, Power and Spirituality. Organised by the Srei Foundation, Business Economics and the Institute of Inspiration and Self-Development, the annual World Confluence, has since the last four years, sought to bring together people from different career paths onto a common platform whose hallmark is spirituality through service. Eschewing doctrinaire and divisive interpretation of religion, the World Confluence seeks a commingling of the beliefs and practices of different faiths, which elevate and empower the mind, soul and body. The purpose is to harmonise thoughts with actions, and bring unity rather than create divisions among people of different faiths; the binding factor is the expression of spirituality through h...

Being free of stress within

If you happen to take a flight at night, and get a window seat, please look out of the window when you take off. You will see thousands of tiny dots of light coming from thousands of houses that lie below and if you could peep inside any of them, you will find people not very different from one another, going through similar life experiences; stressed, disturbed by the same set of problems  such as health, finances, relationships and/or emotions. These stresses weigh an individual down all through life keeping him or her entangled in the daily struggle of existence; and before one knows, the hair has turned grey, the spine is bent, the skin shrivelled, the eyesight dim, the body is host to a plethora of diseases, and the stress… it only increases, never subsides, causing the body to deteriorate further and faster. Psychological stress is the prime factor that expedites physical ageing. Medically, this stress is associated with the shortening of the telomere length in the DNA...

Why criminal Babas flourish in Kalyug

Few days back a certain spiritual guru was ca ught up in a sex-scandal, a little before that some other was accused of deceiving people by offering impractical solutions, yet another was seen fleeing away in the guise of a woman from a political rally, the same gentleman was found in a hospital getting treated for dengue after having sold treatments to all kinds of diseases to the world. Another person having failed in his business grew a beard and started teaching spirituality (now he is flourishing). There is a spiritual organisation that has roped in an MBA to give lectures on television, the lady earned them a lot of following but on the subject of spirituality she calls atma as at-ma and shanti as shanty.... (Dhwani is the basis of spiritual sciences. Every sound is a vibration and corresponds to a specific energy. If you change the frequency of that vibration, then the energy changes, as does its effect.) If someone takes upon the role of a spiritual guide and adulterates th...
