Mystic Mantra: The spiritual journey

Any aspect of physical, be it relationship, business, wealth or power, is temporary in nature. For most of us, the physical world that we perceive with the five senses is all there is. If you think about it, you would realise there is little to do here — food, sex, money, power, relationships & creativity. But even on achieving these, one is left asking for more. Take the example of sweets, the same combination of flour, sugar and oil (and chemicals!) one eats in hundreds of forms, and still there are newer varieties for one to taste. Innovation is unending, life passes but the taste buds want more, something different. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Hence, all pleasures have an inherent mechanism towards an automatic process called destruction. Senses dull away with age, tastes don’t. Body fades away, tastes don’t. Any aspect of physical, be it relationship, business, wealth or power, is temporary in nature. The more you indulge in it, th...

FIGHTING DEPRESSION

Are you depressed? Is it because your job doesn’t pay you well enough? Or because your spouse and children do not listen to you? Or because your talent goes unnoticed and you are not valued enough? Or is it because of how your body and looks are deteriorating by the day? You are not alone. The expectations are still not met and so birth is taken to fulfil them. Expectations are direc...

SANDS OF TIME

Do you know when Suraiyya died? Do you know when Dev Anand died? Do you know when K L Sehgal died? Or when Rajesh Khanna died? Or do you remember any incidents from their lives after their heydays had passed? If you know any of the above, then it is pointless reading the thoughts below because then they are nonsense. But if you don’t, then these thoughts might turn out life changing for you…so please memorise them. At the peak of their careers each one of the above used to go around with security that was not even given to the politicians of that time, and I am talking about just 40 or so years back. It was said about Dev Anand that there was a court order prohibiting him from wearing a black suit because when he used to wear one and walk on the road, women would commit suicide in the frustration of not having been able to meet him. Suraiyya could not go to her movie premiers as even security could not keep fans at bay and they would mob her. None of the above paid...
