OM: The Sound of Creation

Ever thought about it…What was there when there was no Creation? Imagine a time when there was no time. Time too was created. After time came OM in the form of Dhwani, sound. Creation began with the sound of Om. From Om emerged all sounds, which further manifested into the dimension of colours and the five elements. The reverse process—from elements to colours to sounds to the eternal Om, opens doorways to the shaktis of Creation. The closer a shakti is to Creation, the closer is its sound to the eternal Om.  A Western University recorded the sound of the SUN and found it to be a continuous loop of unending Oms. “And Sun powers all life on earth. Also, Sun has no religion.” Manifestation of OM  in a vedic havan performed by Dhyan Foundation volunteers  Now to get an experience of OM you can... Look up the night sky, fix your gaze at any one point and without shifting your gaze start rotating from right to left. After a while stop, close your ey...

Om Chanting Workshop in Delhi

Om Chanting Workshop Om was the first sound of creation. It is said to have emerged from the damru of Lord Shiva. Before sound (creation), there was eternal silence and absolute stillness. Therefore, sound is the first manifestation of physical creation. From sound emerges the dimension of colours; from colours emerges everything that we see in the physical creation, including our physical body. A combination of certain sounds is a mantra. Sounds programmed as mantras have a very powerful effect on the body as well as the environment and are instrumental in elevating the consciousness of a being, thereby facilitating manifestation of thought. It is through the power of sound and mantras that Tansen ushered rains on earth or Guru Shukracharya was able to resurrect the dead. The science of mantras holds true even for present times, with so many researches and experiments being conducted internationally on the power of mantras. However, for a mantra to ...

Sound and Mantras

Sound or ‘ dhwani ’ is said to have originated from the ‘damru’ of Lord Shiva. It is said that every perceivable and unperceivable object in the Universe has a corresponding sound. Sound, the first perceivable dimension of the physical creation originates from a layer so subtle that a normal human mind would not be able to comprehend that force. Prana is the force that pervades the Universe. Manifested in different forms it makes itself perceivable. ‘Mata Adi Shakti’ manifested as the Trinity for the purpose of physical creation. The first physical manifestation after the Trinity was in the form of sound. ‘Om’ (Aum) was the first sound and it came out of the damru of Lord Shiva. Divided into four parts (a-u-m and silence) it represents the journey of the spirit. Before sound, i.e. Creation, there was eternal sil...

Celestial sound that perfects all

Sound or dhwani  is said to have originated from the damru of Lord Shiva. Mata Adi Shakti manifested itself as the Trinity for the purpose of physical creation. The first corporeal manifestation on earth after the Trinity’ birth was in the form of sound. Om (Aum) was the first sound. It arose from the damru of Lord Shiva. Before sound (creation), there was eternal silence and absolute stillness. It was from here that the journey of an individual began. Therefore, sound can be termed as the first dimension perceived in physical creation. From sound emerges the dimension of colours; from colours emerges everything that we see in the physical creation, including our physical body. Sound has a deep and profound effect on our being. Whether we are able to immediately feel the effect or not depends on the kind of sound one interacts with. The roaring of a lion creates an environment of dread all around, whereas the call of a cuckoo or the song of a nightingale soothes...
