Camel and cow meat seized from cold storage in West Delhi

A truck carrying camel carcasses was caught in the national capital on Tuesday, just as it was entering a cold storage in West Delhi. The truck was headed to Jagdish Cold Storage House located at Lawrence Road when it was seized by police over allegations by animal activists that it was loaded with both camel and cow meat. The truck was immediately brought to Keshav Puram Police Station by animal rights activists from People For Animals and Dhyan Foundation and susequently an FIR was registered. 3 women fight against illegal camel trade at Bangladesh border

Three women fight against the illegitimate trading of camel after 61 camels were brought from Rajasthan to Kishanpganj, Bihar. As many as 61 of the Indian desert camels, which were declared as endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resourse (IUCN), were traded illegally from Rajasthan to Kishanganj in Bihar. As trafficking of camels is prohibited in the state of Rajasthan, a case has been registered at the Kishanganj police station. Ms Nitasha Jaini, an artist by profession, Ms Anjali Anand, Operations Manager with an education agency and Ms Neeru Gupta, an education professional, have taken up the legal battle for protecting and securing the lives of the endangered species. And these women are backed by Dhyan Foundation, an animal welfare NGO.
