The different layers of creation

The physical comprising of the five elements is only one layer to it. As you progress in the sadhna of yog, the various layers of creation unfold in front of you and you realise that the physical, which majority spend their life and birth pursuing, is just a small aspect of creation, a layer which is directly controlled by the world of ether, which is the subject of yog. Most of us have grown up listening to stories from Ramayan, of the noble king Ram, his virtuous wife Sita and devoted brother Lakshman. Diwali, as most understand, is the day when these three returned to Ayodhya after an exile of 14 years. In this article, we will highlight how it is perceived in the realm of energy. Lord Ram is a reflection of the energy of Preserver (Vishnu), Devi Sita an incarnation of his force (Goddess Lakshmi) and Lakshman is a reflection of the Sheshnaag, which is where the two energies rest. These three shaktis manifested in physical creation (bhulok) for a purpose, to uphold dhar...

Manifest the unmanifest

Shiva is often described as adi, unborn; anant, endless; akhand, indivisible; nirakaar, formless. Yet, shivling has a form. Why is that? Shiva is beyond birth and yet He has a form. And this form was brought into creation by Adi Shakti. Adi Shakti manifested itself and then created gravity around it through a whirling motion, through rotation, or ‘pradikshina’. Rotation is the basis of gravity, of magnetism, of the energy of prana that is in every microcosm of Creation. When something rotates, it creates a pull or magnetism around it. When you do pradikshina of a Shakti, you are able to relate to it very easily. This practice is used in advanced sadhnas of Sanatan Kriya. When Adi Shakti created the force, yoni manifested. And shivling manifested in that yoni. A shivling encompasses the entire brahmand (creation). When you do sadhana on the shivling, then the entire creation unfolds in front of you, and you are able to access any energy therein. A specific kriya in Sanatan...

Let's demystify the myth of energy called Hanuman

Creation exists in layers, some perceivable by our five senses, for some higher senses are required. Yet all the layers exist and the subtler or higher layers control the layers below, the creation as it appears to an ordinary person being the grossest layer, which is controlled by the subtler layers, the layer of energy, the world of ether. Every entity on earth is a reflection of energy, is influenced by and influences the world of energy and hence, has an effect on every aspect of creation – be it a dog, a monkey, a cow, a tree, stone or a human being. The realm of energy manifests itself first in the form of a thought, then sound, then colour, and finally the five elements that constitute the bodies of the trees, animals, humans, stones, alike. The sciences of premonition, clairaudience, clairvoyance , healing , etc stem from here. Sanatan Kriya brings the various layers of a being and as a result certain higher centres open up, allowing a practitioner to perceive the vari...

SREE BAIDYANATH

Centuries ago Lord Shiv is said to have revealed himself to his true devotees in the form of a jyoti or a light. On their request for Him to reside by them for eternity, He installed Himself near them, as a linga, which is now known as Jyotirlinga. In this series of articles we will take you through the 12 Jyotirlingas as described in the following Sanskrit shloka (Dwadasha Jyotirlingum Strota) – सौराष्ट्रे सोमनाथं च श्रीशैले मल्लिकार्जुनम्। Sri Baidyanath Jyotirlinga is situated in Deogarh in the Santhal Parganas area of Bihar. In fact, Deogarh is also known as Baidyanath,...

YOGA FOR A CALM MIND

In the previous article we discussed a Pranayam and an ayurvedic tonic to keep the mind calm as well as maintaining good health and a youthful glow. Adding to that we will learn two asans from the Sanatan Kriya which affect the vagus nerve. This nerve runs parallel to the Sushumna Nadi (spine) and connects the Mooladhar chakra (base of the spine) to the Agya chakra (forehead).  Asans for Vagus Nerve Invoke the energy of the Guru and Lord Ganesh . 1. Marjariasan (Cat pose) : Go down on your palms and knees, place your hands directly below your shoulders and your knees below your hips. Keep your elbows straight and look forward. Inhale as you raise your head and gaze at the highest point above, while you arch your spine downwards. Hold the posture for sometime and as you exhale you pull your abdominal muscles in and arch the spine in the opposite direction towards the ceiling while you look downwards. Hold the posture and repeat it gently seven times. 2. Vyaghras...

LIFE IS AN EXPERIENCE

"It is the desires that tie one to the individual consciousness. Once these are removed, the being becomes one with the supreme consciousness" -  Yogi Ashwini Love is the four-letter word on which epics have been composed, movies based, songs and poems attributed. And yet, if you look at any great love story, you will find that the end is always tragic; the story ends with the separation of the lovers. The truth is that there is no such thing as love, and realising this is enlightenment. Every person in the world is looking for love, yet there is hardly anyone who is aware of it. Today one spends a lifetime in the pursuit of the physical; lust and possession are mistranslated as love. Love actually is in letting go of the people you love, to give them the freedom to live their own; it lies in sacrifice and being there for them unconditionally without expecting anything in return. In the realm of energy, the colour pink translates as love. If you look around you wi...

GURU SHISHYA RELATIONSHIP, SHIV AND SATI

Yog is your relationship with your Guru . A shishya according to his capacity, establishes a relationship with the Guru, then it is the task of the Guru to make him/her rise above that relationship to a state where there are all relationships and yet no relationship. Sati, born to Daksha Prajapati, was the incarnation of Adi Shakti herself, and performed great austerities to win the Adi Guru Shiv himself, as her husband. Her penance was rewarded, her decision however was not well-received by her father, King Daksha. The king cut-off all communication with his daughter after marriage since he did not approve of Lord Shiv as his son-in-law. Once, a grand yagya was being conducted at King Daksha’s palace where all the gods and goddesses save Lord Shiv and Sati were invited. Sati requested Lord Shiv to accompany her for the yagya . Lord Shiv refused since they had not been invited and he advised her also not to go. Sati however insisted that a daughter does not need invitation...

Self healing with Sanatan Kriya

The physical body consists of five elements in various permutations and combinations. These elements are controlled by the dimension of colour. Everything in creation has a colour to it. Even the colourless is a colour and every colour has a specific frequency. Everything looks the way it does because it is in a state of balance as it is vibrating at a specific frequency. Yogi Ashwini is the spiritual head of Dhyan Ashram If there is an imbalance in any of these colours or energy, the manifestation happens in colours, which further effects the object which maybe the physical body that we are talking about in this case. That distortion is called a disease, also called imbalance in Ayurveda. To correct that imbalance, there are various powerful techniques given in Sanatan Kriya under the topic of self-healing. For example, if you have an upset stomach, the primary constituting colours of stomach are – green and light saffron. By introducing the right shade of these colours into...

Guru Purnima Special: Importance of Guru

Guru is the giver of gyan, the one who puts you on the path of experience and takes you beyond, beyond the realm of five senses. He is not someone in a fancy robe, with a beautiful beard, who dances around trees and promises to cure your illness by breathing like a monkey, of course after emptying your pocket. That is an entrepreneur, who has devised an innovative marketing strategy for him to grow physically. Someone who is himself tied to the pleasures of the senses cannot take you beyond, which is the ultimate purpose of yog. Guru is not the physical body, it is an energy through which gyan flows into the shishya, yet it is important for the Guru to be in body. You get a Guru as per your karmas and shreni, it is not necessary that, who was the Guru of your forefathers will be your Guru as well. Whoever can transfer the experience of yog to you is your Guru.  Guru Poornima is an extremely powerful day, merely being in your Guru's presence can have amazing effects on your evol...

What are pranas?

Prana is the essence of manifest creation. It may be understood as a frequency, a vibration. Prana first is exists as a thought, which manifests through consciousness into sound, then colours and eventually into the five elements that make up everything around us including our body. When a grosser frequency of prana enters the body (clairaudients hear it as an abnormal sound of the cells, clairvoyants see it as a heavy colour) it creates imbalance in the body, disease is a symptom of this imbalance. The pain and discomfort that we feel in such a condition is nothing but a grosser frequency of prana. Healers remove this heavy frequency of prana and replenish the body with subtler prana and immediately the person feels relieved. Similar phenomenon is observed in nature as well. Selfish and animalistic thoughts and deeds manifest as grosser frequencies of prana which pollute the environment and create havoc in Creation. Earthquakes and other natural disasters are a manifestation...

The Difference Between Fake Babas & True Gurus

by Yogi Ashwini On a TV show recently, the anchor commented, “If you are  good  at nothing in  life  - become a Baba; the chances of your becoming successful and prosperous are very high.” This seems to be the common perception! Perhaps this is so because today several self-proclaimed ‘babas’ and ‘saints’ take to wearing saffron, green or white. Their wardrobe, length of beard, the ailments they claim to cure you of and the crowds they pull are all taken as yardstick to gauge their  spiritual  Quotient.  Vulnerable devotees lavish praise, power and wealth on their professed Baba, helping set up ‘ashrams’ in the name of elevating consciousness. This is a dangerous trend and is a threat to our culture. By ‘our’, I mean our collective culture as human beings. How then do we differentiate between a fly-by-night Baba and a truly evolved Guru? There are others, who, after years of rigorous tapa and sadhana, despite having achieved all...
