Video | How can vedic havans result in anti-ageing?

Agni or fire is the first word of the Rig Veda. Did you know that according to ayurveda the various agnis in the body are at constant work burning body fuel and along with it body’s resources? For example, in the process of converting food into energy the internal chemical processes affect organs of the body. The heavier the food more the resources required to burn it and convert it into energy, the more the body ages. In a similar manner, fast breathing, sexual act, anger, attachment, greed, violence, sorrow and various kinds of indulgences lead you to engage in intense processing of thoughts, which utilise the body’s resources and engage the various agnis resulting in ageing. So, is there a way to make these agnis ‘shaant’(calm), resulting in anti-ageing, balance and tuning oneself to the subtler frequencies? The answer lies in performing Vedic havans, which are done on a large scale at Dhyan Ashram. Significance of havan and different havan kunds Fire is an eleme...

ANTI-AGEING : BREATHE IT RIGHT

The article was published in Jagawani Magazine,UK .

ANTI-AGEING – BREATHE IT RIGHT

If you trace a person from being an infant to a full grown adult, you will notice, in most cases, a progressive decline in the skin texture and complexion. A baby is glowing pink whereas most adults, even in their prime youth, are plagued with a diseased skin and dull complexion.  In the process of growing up, one is exposed to certain unnatural practices and stimuli from which it was kept protected in the womb. Take for example the simple act of breathing. If you observe how a baby breathes, you would notice a pronounced abdominal movement. The stomach inflates as it breathes in and deflates as it breathes out. If you observe your own breathing patterns, most likely, you will find it to be the opposite and with little or no abdominal movement…this breathing pattern of yours holds the key to the way you look and your present state of health. Abdominal breathing maximizes the up and down movement of the diaphragm and ensures that the lungs function at their optimal level, ...

SECRETS TO ANTI AGEING

Weak joints, wrinkled skin, graying hair – these are the signs of body succumbing to ageing. It is true that the body is constantly moving towards destruction, but it is also true that there exist ways to arrest this process. Ageing is synonymous to loss of sukra in the body. Sukra is the subtle element that provides luster to hair and skin, strength to joints and organs, longevity, and attraction normally seen in abundance in saints and evolved beings, which pulls one towards them unknowingly. This sukra gets dried up due to constant hyperactivity and excessive ama(toxin) produced in the body due to certain unhealthy practices. The four major reasons for the loss of sukra in the body are emotional congestion, excessive physical labor, anger and overindulgence in sexual activities.  A practitioner of Sanatan Kriya is able to check all four without having to make a conscious effort or suppressing any desires. While curtailing these prevents ageing by inhibiting cell degenera...

ANTI AGEING : Reverse Ageing the Vedic way

In the last article we had discussed how ageing starts at the level of cell. At the time of conception, you were just one cell. Gradually this cell divided itself, multiple times repeatedly, to create the body that you identify yourself with today. In the process of growing up and your day-to-day activities, the cells keep on dividing. Each cell can divide only a limited number of times (modern science calls it the Hayflick limit) and every new cell is weaker than the parent cell. Even as you are reading this article, the cells in your body are constantly splitting up into new ones, and some old ones are dying. This is constant weakening of cells manifests as ageing in the body.   We are constantly ageing. In fact,  ayurveda  describes the body as that which is constantly moving towards destruction,  shiryate iti shareeram . Why? Because you come with a limited life force, called  prana , in the body, which is what governs these cells. Clairvoyants at Dh...

The Concept Of Ageing

Not very long ago, a British University studying the behavior of heavenly bodies and recording the sounds emitted by them, concluded that the sound of om is the sound which the sun gives out. Ofcourse, they called it the sound emitted from transverse pulling of the guitar string, but still no one has ever conducted such a research, kudos to this university for reintroducing us to the power of om, which has been called as the eternal sound of creation by the vedic masters. Now we have modern science backing this! Vedas are the source of everything. Time and again, great men across cultures have turned back to the vedas to find an answer to the deepest secrets of creation, be it the working and properties of heavenly bodies, complex theories of science and geometry, or the undying quest to find a solution to an ageing body... In deep states of dhyan, I have encountered rishis and yogis, with long lustrous hair, flawless body, glowing skin and youthful radiance...how is it tha...

How to combat ageing and disease

The physical body reflects the power of the ether and its practices The Vedic rishis were the masters of the physical and the spiritual; super beings who controlled prakriti (Nature) and all its manifestations. Time and again, modern science and the best of western minds have turned to Vedic culture to find solutions to complex problems. Enough research has highlighted the scientific basis and precision of Vedic concepts. The physical body, comprising the five mahabhutas (elements), had been completely mastered by the Vedic rishis. The rishis of yesteryears could maintain their physical youth and glow till the very end and then leave the body in a state of full consciousness and awareness. It is very possible to achieve the same in this day and age, provided one develops an in-depth understanding of Vedic concepts and applies them in the right manner to master the physical body. Let us begin to understand what was it that endowed the Vedic masters with their phenomenal glow ...

The irony of Vedic roundabout

Recently it was in the news that the BBC science show presenter Dr Michael Mosley has discovered  that eating less can increase your lifespan because it slows down the metabolic rate, and hence the rate of cell decay in the body. It is incredible to see that with every passing day every new ‘discovery’ of modern science is only rediscovering and reconfirming what our ancestors had said many thousands of years ago. Be it the nasal irrigation technique (jal neti) to fight infections that has become a rage in the United States; the hydro-colon therapy (basti) or the recent research by Dr Mosley, the world is gradually waking up to the ancient Vedic sciences and laying claims to the knowledge of our ancestors. However, still being in the stage of development, modern sciences are able to touch upon these principles only partially, as in the case of the ‘eat less, live longer’ mantra of Dr Mosley. Ageing is not just a product of a stressed-out digestive system, it works up...

The Thesis For Anti-Ageing and a Comprehensive Life- Herald

Vedic treasure of beauty and health

Yogi Ashwini’s latest book, Sanatan Kriya, The Ageless Dimension, explains the process of ageing in the human body and critically examines this process. The book provides remedies for arresting the ageing process and maintaining that youthful look till your last breath. It gives techniques to prolong life, and gives recipes for a diet to combat the process of ageing. Certain rare rasayans (chemicals) for rejuvenating the body and maintaining its youth are also discussed. Techniques and kriyas for promoting longevity and youthful looks from Shiv Samhita, Gherand Samhita, Charak Samhita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and other ancient, near-extinct texts, are also there. The book explains in detail the complex process of ageing in all the layers of the body, and provides remedies and solutions to combat this. Yogi Ashwini firmly believes that if the rishis of yesteryears could go on for so long, and maintain their youth and glow till the end to leave the body in full consciousness and awa...

The secret of a long youth

YOGI ASHWINI Agelessness and longevity have captured the interest of Masters across civilisations for eons. Anjana Rajguru spoke to Yogi Ashwini, a Living Master and the Guiding Light of Dhyan Foundation, to understand the secrets of anti-ageing of the Vedic seers as revealed in his new book Sanatan Kriya—The Ageless Dimension. In an age where people are sceptical about the credentials of a true guru, how does one differentiate between a fake and a true guru? Guru should exude what he talks and reflect the glow and attraction that is associated with yog. If you yourself look like a stick or are obese, if you do not have control over your own body, how can you talk about powers of the creation? The first limb of Patanjali Ashtang Yog is the five yamas—satya, asteya, aparigraha, brahmacharya, and ahimsa. A person who is selling yog to amass wealth and power for himself falls short of the first three yamas; he cannot be a yogi. Likewise a person who calls himself a brahmachar...

Unravelling the mystery of ageing with yoga

Yogi Ashwini from Delhi believes that yoga means integration of the mind and body with the universe and one can be in the moment without actually meditating. In conversation with NT BUZZ he shared his thoughts on yoga, positive thinking and his new book on anti-ageing Ageing may be a natural process, but it is in our hands to control it. This is possible with the help of yoga and ayurveda. But, if you thought yoga is only about asanas then think again for according to Delhi-based yoga guru, Yogi Ashwini you are mistaken. He is of the opinion that, “There are no asanas in yoga. It is all about connection or integration of all aspects of the mind with the body.” He is now ready with his latest book, ‘Sanatan Kriya - The Ageless Dimension’ that will speak about issues of ageing and remedies to arrest it. He says, “We are the reflection of one cell. The day the baby is born and takes its first breath, the process of ageing sets in. Every breath results in the production of energy and ...

The unconventional Yogi Ashwini

Yoga gurus are usually associated with long saffron robes, flowing beards and a Spartan lifestyle. But the same is not so with unconventional Yogi Ashwini. His disciples refer to him as "the guiding light of Dhyan Foundation" which has centres in nearly 30 cities around India as well as in the US, UK and Germany. The foundation says it wants to extend yoga knowledge to the people for free and claims that it is run on voluntary contributions of its volunteers who range from businessmen to doctors and engineers. On his visit to Goa to make people aware of the true yoga particularly the Sanatan Kriya, the yogi believes that "Yoga is a science. It is an interaction with creation, and is not a religion." "Yoga does not ban anything. I have experienced everything there is to experience," Speaking to STOI, the yogi was critical of the commercialization of yoga. "There are a lot of people fooling people in the name of yoga. It is very easy to wear robes, ...
