Yogic Practices for a Beautiful, Healthy Life: Panch Mahaprana

In the last article, we discussed about the prana-shakti, the universal force that drives all life in this Creation including our bodies. Our body, as shared is a combination of the varying prana frequencies in the form of the five elements or the Panch Mahaprana. And it is this frequency which differentiates one being from the other. Panch Mahapranas, is the immediate force which governs the physical body and with this the mudras, i.e., the various movements of the hands and fingers by which we can alter the states of these Panch Mahapranas, which would again have a direct bearing on our etheric body (Pranamaya) and physical body (Annamaya). Modern science tells us that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it only changes form. We all believe it. A fact known way back to the ‘Vedic Masters’, who said around fourteen-thousand years ago that there was no such thing as destruction, what seems to be destroyed actually only changes form. It is from here that the concept o...

A healthy Stomach

The stomach as per the vedic sources is the organ responsible deriving prana from the food and in this sense, the vedic masters identified three stomachs of a human being - the mouth, the actual stomach and the intestines. All these three stomachs are controlled and governed by the manipoorak chakra in the pranic body of a person. Maximum imbalances in the body start with congestion in the stomach and a faulty elimination of waste from the body, which ultimately manifests into disease. When you eat food, two things can happen that may lead to disease in future. First is the failure of absorption of nutrients from the intestines due to the development of a chemical coating on the walls due to eating food laced with chemicals and masalas. Second, the slow/negligible movement of the ingested food in the digestive tract due to lack of  pranic  energy in the manipoorak, once again resulting from ingestion of chemicals and dangerous masalas. Both these things lead to...

Defy Aging- Naturally

Vedic rishis were masters of the physical and the spiritual, super beings who controlled prakriti and all its manifestations. The physical body comprising of five mahabhutas (elements) had been completely mastered by them. From the masters of the Vedic era to the present-day doctors of modern and alternative medicine, all are engaged in finding a solution to stop, or at least, slow down the body clock. Many, on realising that they are ageing, lose their mental balance. A lot accept it as the inevitable. Some get stressed and fearful, and it is these vulnerable people who fall prey to business-minded companies selling anti-ageing creams, tonics, rejuvenating serums, which at best camouflage symptoms, addressing just the periphery while the core goes unnoticed. With time, the core emerges revealing facts, but by then precious years have been lost and the damage is by then irreversible. It is normal to age...but for normal people. Ageing is a phenomenon of dulling of the senses...

The futily of Vidya bought from spiritual quacks

Recently I got an email from someone seeking a meditation technique to help his situation. The gentleman had apparently learnt the sri vidya and some other vidyas (names of which, even I don’t know) from an avadhoot baba who conducts shivirs across the globe. I told him that he knew so much, he should be the one giving me lessons in yog; so how could I possibly help him? His reply was, ‘that is what the problem is. I have learnt the vidyas, but I do not know what to do now, how to prove myself…’ This gentleman is not an isolated case. There are so many across the world who are caught up in the buying and selling of myriad vidyas and kriyas in the hope of gaining name, fame, money, power, success or for the solution to a physical problem. There exists no kriya, vidya or upay  to solve your life’s problems. The only method lies in improving one’s karma. The law of karma states that whatever you give, comes back to you manifold. If you want to grow financially, start feeding th...
