LIFE IS AN EXPERIENCE

"It is the desires that tie one to the individual consciousness. Once these are removed, the being becomes one with the supreme consciousness" -  Yogi Ashwini Love is the four-letter word on which epics have been composed, movies based, songs and poems attributed. And yet, if you look at any great love story, you will find that the end is always tragic; the story ends with the separation of the lovers. The truth is that there is no such thing as love, and realising this is enlightenment. Every person in the world is looking for love, yet there is hardly anyone who is aware of it. Today one spends a lifetime in the pursuit of the physical; lust and possession are mistranslated as love. Love actually is in letting go of the people you love, to give them the freedom to live their own; it lies in sacrifice and being there for them unconditionally without expecting anything in return. In the realm of energy, the colour pink translates as love. If you look around you wi...

The Power of Pink

Every relationship is symbiotic as it is based on give and take. You are in it because you are getting something from the other person and vice-versa. No matter how close a person might be to you, the moment you stop giving or the moment this “give and take” comes to an end, the relationship ceases to exist. The only relationship that is an exception to this rule is that of a mother and a child, that too from the mother’s side and not vice-versa. The mother holds unconditional love for her child and nurtures and raises him/her without expecting anything in return. Every religion gives utmost respect to the mother for she is the creator of creation. She is shakti and, therefore, it makes sense to have every day as the day of the mother — the epitome of unconditional love. If you look at the depiction of a mother in any culture or faith, she will be shown to hold the child against her chest, for that is the seat of unconditional love in a human being. The pranic layer of a hu...

Why Love Hurts

Ever wondered why all epic love stories end in tragedy? Look around yourself… look at the people who claim to love someone else, or if you do not want to go far, just look at yourself… the object of love in your story would never be a free thought. It would always be that you want the person for yourself, for your pleasure without bothering to find out what is the pleasure of the other person. That is love for you, your own terms and conditions and what you think is right. Even if the other person disagrees, it is not important for you, because ‘you know you are right’. Love is considered a magical word. Volumes have been written on the subject of love all across the world. A famous saying goes, ‘If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it is yours. If it does not, it never was.’ This definition of love is universal over all religions, nationalities, communities and the world. The problem begins when we confuse love with lust or a physical desire. On doing this, t...
