Video | What is the journey of the soul?

What is atma chintan? This word comprises of two words ‘Atma’ and ‘Chintan’. Atma is what you really are and not what you see yourself as- this would make no sense to a being of kaliyug(the present yug) All you think yourself to be only the physical form that you see and this is what the role of kaliyug is- to delude you (bhramit karna). Yogi ji explains the concept of yog, birth and demise Let us try and understand how kaliyug has its effect by going back in the history, in the times of Yayati itself. Yayati was the ancestor of the kauravas and pandavas. Even after enjoying the pleasures of bhu lok for 4,000 years (by exchanging his curse of old age with youth of his son Puru), he was not satisfied and could not believe that 4,000 years had passed. What is the nature of the soul?

To experience the senses and all that the divine has created, the swaroop of a soul is insufficient. Let me share a little story of creation. At the time, there was nothing. Just one vibrant light and a lot of smaller lights (energies) revolving around it in its attraction. They had no desire at this stage, no thought—the state of absolute bliss. These lights then reached a place abounding in natural beauty, but they were unable to experience it. The main light then gave each of those lights a special suit. Wearing these suits, the lights could experience the many sights. So enamoured were they, that they didn’t even realise that their glow was now covered by the suit, to which they were bound. Slowly, they forgot all about the main light and the state of bliss they were in. Now they were a body, no more a point of light....

Yoga in its original form

What is yoga? Simply put, it is being in union with something. In that sense, one may choose to be in yoga with fashion, with beauty, or with a sport . But none of these makes a person a yogi. To embark on the path a yogi travels, you need to go through a certain experience, which will bring you face to face with what is called atma sakshatkar , your true self. Once you come face to face with your true self, you are in yoga, and once you are in yoga with yourself, you are a yogi. A rakshas (demon) undergoes enormous tapah (penance) to impress God. When God finally appears before him to grant him the desired boon, what does the rakshas ask for? Immortality, riches, pleasures… Why? Kyonki woh apni yoni se bandha hua hai because he is constrained by his karmic protocol of being born into an order of being that is demonic — he cannot understand a world beyond that, so he cannot ask for more than that. He is bound by his desires, he needs certain experiences so he asks f...
