Guru: The key to success

Do you want to achieve the finality or supreme reality? If yes, then read on.  Let's do a small experiment. Go to a field or any open space. Mark any one spot as A, which is your start point. A kilometre away from it mark a point B, the destination you want to reach. Now start walking from A to B keeping your mind free of thoughts. The minute you get a thought take a turn. Every thought, a turn. Write to me how long it took for you to travel the distance. Yoga is the journey from A to B. A, is where you are, B is the finality. Guru is someone, who has already walked that path and has the experience of finality. So he is able to show you the path. But to walk it or to take turns or stop, is the choice of the sadhak. Traits of a Guru by Yogi Ashwini The key to success is the path of least resistance. The various desires, thoughts, sceneries, people and pleasures that one intercepts on the path, act as resistances, that prevent the sadhak from moving ahead. This i...

Yog is the road to pure bliss

Fulfilment of desires is not evolution. It is sadhana which involves changes within and leads to ultimate freedom. Ayurveda says that the body is composed of three doshas—Vat, Pitt and Kapha. The term ‘dosha’ translates as a defect or an impurity. That is, the body is inherently impure. There is no such thing as negative or positive because everything around that is physical, is bound by time. It is bound to end, and the time for it to end is decided the moment you get it, irrespective of whether that thing is good or bad.  The biggest pain is not in losing something but in getting something which is dear to you. The dearer a thing is to you, the more expensive it proves to be, as that much more pain it will cause to you when it leaves you. The day you get something, that day itself the pain that comes with it is also decided. Similarly the day you take the body, the doshas that come along with it are also determined because the meaning of the body is that which is...

Significance of karma

Creation is cyclical in nature. There is an upward curve followed by a downward curve. We are presently on the downward curve of creation, the peak of Kalyug. If you look around, everything is on a decline or fast deteriorating. Let us take the health of humans as an example, if you compare your body and level of activity to that of your grandparents when they were your age, you would find, they had fitter and stronger bodies and were able to too much more work than yourself. Then if you go back a few hundred years and compare their bodies to those of their forefathers, a similar trend would be observed. In fact, there is a modern research which confirms that the brain size of humans is shrinking with time. Dog shelters by Dhyan Foundation Not just health, the quality of food, air, water and environment are all on a downturn. Forests are fast disappearing, foods are laden with toxins, water is contaminated, air is unbreathable, wildlife is thinning out. In general, ne...
