It's her grace

Emotions are at the root of most diseases in the body. Hormones control our various bodily functions. Negative and heavy emotions such as fear, anxiety, anger, etc. disturb their normal function and release toxins that find their way to different parts of the body—muscle, tissue, organs etc  thereby breeding disease. The phenomenon holds true for humans as well as animals, only the level of sensitivity differs. This is not to say that humans are more sensitive…certain evolved animals like cows and dogs, at times, display far more sensitivity than most humans.
When a cow is scared, sad, nervous or angry, a large amount of toxins are generated in her body. If you happen to visit a slaughter-house, you will be shocked to see the condition of animals, the way they are kept, and the fear in their eyes when the knife is raised…. Imagine the amounts of toxins that are secreted by the glands in the body of such an animal. The adverse effects on health of those who consume their meat are immense. Dr Prasan Prabhakar, MD & Proprietor, Laxmi Hospital, Kochi, says “I have noticed people who eat cow meat have higher incidence of cholesterol and sudden deathsyndrome where heart stops to function and person dies.”
Cow meat is banned in the ancient vedic texts, the reason being not cruelty to animals but the high amounts of coagulants found in cow meat that thicken the blood hampering the normal functioning of heart leading to a plethora of cardio-vascular diseases, which at times prove fatal. Creation is bipolar in nature, it exists as opposites. While the milk of a cow is called as amrit and promotes health, its meat is poison and leads to disease. Today synthetic concoctions are available in the name of milk, since there are aren’t enough cows to meet the demand of milk in the country. So many cows and buffaloes and other strays are killed every day, their diseased bodies shredded and included as ingredients in our food.
Saving the cow is a sign of prosperity. The great epic Mahabharat details the war of Viratnagar, the kingdom where the Pandavas spent the final year of their exile incognito. The Kauravas had abducted the cows of Viratnagar. Arjuna, risked disclosing his identity rather than letting the cows be taken away. Even today, the ones who pay heed to this magical animal are not left disappointed. A volunteer at Dhyan Foundation who is actively involved in saving cows, was barely three months into his job at a media house when he did a story on the five-legged cow. It was published all across the globe bringing him international fame.
There is a mystery to a cow, which I have experienced in years of sadhna. The ones who nurture them progress very fast. On the other hand, among the ones who kill them, there is high incidence of diseases like cancer, impotency, etc and generations are born with abnormalities.
The cow is an intelligent being and the karmic implications of causing it hurt are severe; likewise the karmic benefits of serving it are also manifold. Various cultures describe the immense benefits of preserving and serving it. It is said that if you regularly feed cows and they lick your head, then your hidden mental abilities fructify. This was true for the great saint Kabir; his poetic abilities manifested only once a cow licked his head. Massaging cows ensures longevity in a strong, beautiful body. Serving the calf gives the benefit of healthy relationships in your life.

MERGER OF SHIV AND SHAKTI

Shiv is the doer and may be likened to a vehicle. If you remove ‘i’ from Shiv, it becomes ‘shav’ (corpse). The ‘i’ represents Shakti, which is the fuel that energises this vehicle to perform action. Shakti is the force of the physical world. Shivratri is the night of merger of Shiv and Shakti making a complete whole. Shiv and Shakti pertain to manifest creation and arise from the unmanifest. The journey back to the unmanifest can be carved only through their complete merger which is the ultimate purpose of yoga and Sanatan Kriya . A practical example of merger of Shiv and Shakti is the institution of marriage where the merger of male and female leads to manifestation of a new life. If there is a mismatch in this merger of male and female, or Shiv and Shakti, the marriage remains incomplete. This imbalance is evident in the progeny who will exhibit anti-social and undesirable behaviour and traits. The rishis of yesteryear explained how incompleteness sets into the child in t...

Chakra Beej Kriya: Part 1

Yog is not about twisting and turning yourself into knots and complicated postures, yog taps into the power of consciousness. As you practice yog in totality, as prescribed, you start glowing and the immunity of the body heightens, slowly you begin to exude the glow of the sun. The body that we greet in the mirror everyday is run by a higher force, which is invisible to the naked eye but very clearly visible to a clairvoyant in the form of colours and to a clairaudient in the form of specific sounds. These colours and sounds correspond to certain energy centers in the body, which control and govern various body parts and functions. Much before you identify symptoms of a disease or ailment and decide to visit a doctor, these symptoms are perceived by a yogic practitioner in the form of change in colour, texture, size and sound of various chakras. Sanatan Kriya prescribes various techniques under the topic of self-healing to access this invisible sheath of the body and through...
